KompetensLabbet – a meeting place for skills and innovation
A new feature at ProcessTeknik this year is KompetensLabbet, the Competence Lab, which is a meeting place where we’ll be focusing on new technologies and expertise in automation and production. Together with actors such as IUC (the Industrial Development Centre), Gothenburg Technical College, Chalmers, RISE and Volvo Cars, we’re creating an environment where innovation and learning take centre stage.
West Sweden, which is rapidly becoming a key region for battery production, faces major challenges. At least 7,000 people will need to be recruited or retrained in the Gothenburg region in the coming years. In the Competence Lab we will address the huge transformation needed to ensure a sustainable and competitive future.
On site, you will meet representatives from Gothenburg Technical College who are building Battery Centre Gothenburg, a training centre at Lindholmen. You can also meet the workforce of the future – students – and hear them talk about the Production for Future project. Or why not try working with a robot?
Chalmers offers visitors to the Competence Lab the opportunity to experience the latest technology in virtual training, which aims to revolutionise the factory environments of the future. Through demonstrations of future operator training, participants can analyse their knowledge gaps and explore solutions for future challenges in the automation industry.
RISE (Research Institutes of Sweden) will present a demo area for different manufacturing methods such as 3D printing and joining, a great opportunity to explore the latest methods and innovations in this rapidly growing field.
